Seating begins at 5:30 pm.  The Educational Program starts at 6 p.m. with dinner, followed by a 15-minute business meeting. 
(On-site parking.  Enter through the banquet doors.  If you enter through the front door, the host will escort you to the meeting room).  

 “Biomarkers of Alzheimer’s Disease,” presented by Carrie Lewis, PharmD
The objectives are:
1) Alzheimer's Disease pathophysiology and hallmark biomarkers that are utilized for diagnosis.
2) strengths and limitations of blood, CSF, and PET biomarkers; and
3) Alzheimer's Association Clinical Practice Guideline and CEOi Workgroup recommendations for utilization of biomarkers for triage vs confirmation of disease, depending on practice setting.

We will be collecting donations at the meeting.

You also have the opportunity to go with members to Cass Park in Detroit on the third Saturday of each month (November-March), starting at 10 am, to hand out hot sandwiches, cookies, snacks, coffee, and hot chocolate to people experiencing homelessness. (Contact jbrady@joybaptist.com).  January 17th will be the following Saturday to support our homeless in Detroit!

Carrie Lewis PharmD

Carrie Lewis, PharmD, is an Alzheimer’s Disease medical science liaison (MSL) at Eisai, Inc. Dr. Lewis graduated from University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and then completed a pharmacy practice residency at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. She was a clinical pharmacist at the Ann Arbor VA for over a decade, then transitioned into the MSL role in 2020. As an MSL, her role is to educate providers about Alzheimer’s Disease diagnosis and treatment, share data from Eisai’s clinical trials, and answer questions about medications in Eisai’s AD portfolio. In her spare time, she loves running and spending time outdoors with her family.
