IPN to celebrate Nurses Week and Spring are hosting a program "Human Trafficking: It's not always what you think"

  • Danielle J. Bastien is a Nurse Practitioner at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit who serves as the Director of Advanced Practice Provider Education for Henry Ford Health.  She is also a Davidson Fellow for Entrepreneurs in Digital Health at Henry Ford Health System.                                       In addition to her clinical passion, Danielle is an advocate for anti-human trafficking and is an international speaker on the subject. Her interest in the topic began when she was an Emergency Department nurse in Detroit. While working on her doctoral research on human trafficking, Danielle developed the first software-based screening algorithm of its kind for human trafficking. She has won numerous awards for this work, including the American Nurses’ Association Innovation Award, Crain’s Business Detroit Health Care Hero Award, and the Clara Ford Award for Safest Care and Best Outcomes, to name a few.
